Introduction of Electric Meter

The electric meter is used to measure the electric energy consumed in a certain period of time, or the electric energy consumed on the load. It is a measurement device. The measurement unit of the electric meter is kWh (that is, 1 degree), so it is also known as the kWh meter, or electric energy. Meters, electricity meters, are widely used in various fields of society.
Electricity meters are divided into different types according to different uses, structure, accuracy, power source properties, etc., we are usually ordinary single-item electricity meters.

The appearance of electric meters has a history of more than 100 years.
In 1881, the DC energy meter was made using the principle of electrolysis, which was billed on time.
With the invention and application of AC in 1885, AC meters were born.
The first inductive electric meter appeared in 1889, but it was also very large, weighing 36.5 kg.
Since the beginning of the 20th century, with the development of technology and processing, the volume and weight of electric meters have been continuously decreasing.
In the 1960s, with the development of electronic technology, digital electric meters were invented.
At the end of the 20th century, with the construction of smart grids, the functions of electricity meters became more and more powerful, and functions such as time-segment billing, prepayment of electricity cards, and power grid operation status detection appeared, and smart meters emerged.
In 1879, China's first electric lamp appeared in Shanghai. At that time, it was charged on a monthly basis. Later, electricity was popularized and electricity meters were used, but they were imported from abroad.
In 1966, Shanghai's first domestic electric meter was born in Shanghai.

After decades of development, with the construction of smart grids, smart meters have gradually entered thousands of households.
